You Are Changing Her Destiny

“I am so grateful to have a safe home and the opportunity to study!”- Hiba, Age 15

Hiba’s Story: A Path to Freedom from the Red-Light District

The only home Hiba* has ever known is a brothel in India.

Born into a Muslim family, Hiba’s mom Sahar* was forced into a child marriage. But her new husband was an addict and landed in prison, leaving Sahar pregnant and alone at the age of 15. She was desperate to provide for her baby and trusted a recruiter that promised her a good job in another city. But when she arrived, she was put to work in a brothel.

It is the dirtiest, darkest place in the world,” Sahar said. It broke her heart to raise her daughter in such a place. But she did not know of any other options, so Sahar did as she was told.

She was fiercely protective over her daughter and determined that Hiba would have a better future. She locked her daughter away when men came in, trying to shield her as best she could from the horror.

Thankfully, compassionate people like you support a Restoration Home in a nearby area.

Your generosity made it possible for Hiba to be rescued from the red-light district and brought to safety!

For the first time, Hiba is not living in fear. She is in a safe home environment, receiving counseling, going to school, and becoming who God created her to be.

Hiba shared with us that she wants to honor her mother’s sacrifices and one day hopes to own a small home of her own – a sanctuary where she and her mom can live in peace, far from the red-light district, free from fear.

Because of you, Hiba can see a new future for herself and her family.

304 women and girls and 25 men and boys were rescued from slavery or being sexually exploited last year because of your investment in this critical ministry.

Khin Khin: Changing The Future for Generations

Khin Khin* is a young mother from Myanmar. She has two daughters and has lived her entire life in a culture that has told her to be silent.

“Since childhood, I have had an eye problem, which made me feel insecure. I was also afraid of my husband. Whatever he said, I had to agree whether it was right or wrong—because I felt I had no voice or power to respond. After joining the She Is Safe Group, my life started to change.

I learned about the value of women and experienced great encouragement through sharing and hearing the other women. Praying together has been a powerful experience for me.”

Today, Khin Khin is becoming a leader in her home and community. Her husband now communicates with love and respect towards her and the impact this is having on Khin Khin, and their two young daughters, is profound. Through your partnership with She Is Safe, Khin Khin’s future and the future for her family is safer and stronger.

You helped 4,988 women and teen girls gain confidence, agency, and practical economic skills to create a safer, stronger future through 326 She Is Safe Groups in 10 countries!

From Our Founder

As we start the new year, I am so encouraged by the dedication of the She Is Safe community. Thank you. We are so much stronger when we work together! These are just two stories out of hundreds that show how you are making an eternal difference for women and girls in some of the darkest places around the world.

Every morning, I wake up with a sense of gratitude and deep purpose. You and I are on the frontlines, combatting human trafficking, and standing up for His priceless daughters. I pray you feel His joy and peace as you bring the Kingdom to earth in this way.

We are excited to serve alongside you to expand these critical programs into new communities and countries to free more girls facing slavery.

Thank you for bringing life-changing transformation to Hiba and Khin Khin, so that they can experience the love of Christ and be equipped with the tools they need to build a safe, strong future.

Until every girl is free,
