Katy Anderson, Vice President

Katy Anderson serves as the Vice President of International Ministries for She Is Safe, a global nonprofit working towards a future where every at-risk girl is safe from trafficking and free to become the person God created her to be.
In 2007, the story of a 10-year-old girl named Anju being sold into a child marriage struck a deep chord in Katy’s heart. The horrific reality of how many little girls are abused and sold ignited a lifelong calling in her to protect and advocate for them.
For the last 18 years, Katy has dedicated her life to the frontlines of anti-human trafficking work. She leads a dynamic team of US-based staff members who collaborate with 17 indigenous partner organizations in 11 countries across the Middle East, North and East Africa, and Asia. She Is Safe designs and implements proven, sustainable programs that prevent, rescue, and restore women and girls from suffering human trafficking. In the past year, more than 100,000 people have benefitted from She Is Safe programs and have been equipped with dignity, practical skills, and trafficking awareness training so they can safeguard themselves and their children from slavery.
Katy holds a Master of Theology in Women’s Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary and frequently speaks at churches and with Christian leaders across the U.S. to share the powerful transformation that is possible when people come together on behalf of women and girls in the most difficult place around the world. A California native, Katy now lives in Georgia with her husband Greg and their three children. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her two dogs. And a good cup of coffee.
