How You Are Bringing Christ’s Love and Freedom to Women and Girls Suffering from Human Trafficking

A woman in a red sari walking through a bamboo gate

I am an eyewitness to this work. She Is Safe’s programs have reached the most vulnerable girls and women, empowering them holistically and significantly transforming their lives. These models should be adopted by other organizations.

- Akash, Local Leader in Southeast Asia

She Is Safe envisions a future where every at-risk girl is safe, free, and equipped to become the person God created her to be. We do this through holistic programs of prevention, rescue, and restoration.

From Our Founder

How You Are Bringing Christ’s Love and Freedom to Women and Girls Suffering from Human Trafficking

Dear Friend,

You are a world changer! Over the last year with She Is Safe, you have reached 82,182 people with safety, freedom, and the love of Christ.

As I reflect on 24 years of ministry, I am in awe of how God is using you to help the most vulnerable. I can think of no greater joy than investing our lives – our time, prayers, and resources – in creating a future that reflects His heart for His daughters. She Is Safe is unique in our calling to help women and girls who live in places least reached by the Gospel where abuse and trafficking are normalized. Many of the women entering our programs join with a thumbprint as their signature – denied access to education because they are female, displaced, or surviving in extreme poverty. Many were sold into marriage when they were little girls and have known a lifetime of exploitation.

While most people might think it’s too late, God has not forgotten His daughters. And neither have you. You reached beyond borders, across oceans and cultures to bring the life-giving love and freedom of Christ to those who need it most!

For the first time, these women and girls know their true value. They are becoming leaders in their community, running businesses and raising their children to see the inherent dignity in each person. I hope the testimonies within these pages are encouraging to you! With your help and visionary partnership, God is opening the doors to expand into even more high-risk areas in the years ahead!

Until every girl is safe and free,

AFRICA

She Is Safe has been serving for more than two decades in Africa. Through you, teen girls and mothers are being equipped in She Is Safe Groups. They are gaining business skills to create a dignified income, and this helps alleviate the pressure to sell their daughters into marriage. South Sudanese women and children in particular are among the most vulnerable people in the world.

MENA

During the refugee crisis two decades ago, She Is Safe began working in the MENA region (Middle East/North Africa) alongside a handful of dedicated local women to keep vulnerable girls safe from child marriages. Now, because of your compassion, this work has grown into multiple unique programs across the region. We have the miraculous opportunity to scale successful programs into more high-risk communities across the region, reaching women and girls in areas that are usually closed. Please pray with us for provision and favor over this expansion.

ASIA

Your partnership with us in Asia has built a strong model of successful interventions, and we are continuing to expand urgently needed programs. You are helping rescue girls from trafficking at 4 border area stations. Beyond border rescues, 257 She Is Safe Groups are equipping women and girls vulnerable to trafficking with the skills and spiritual foundation they need to build lives of freedom and faith. We are preparing to expand to help more marginalized women and girls in the region who are at extremely high-risk.

Everything changed for me when I attended She Is Safe training sessions. I felt God had seen my struggle and sent She Is Safe to support me. I am emotionally stronger, self-reliant, and hopeful. I am thankful for the skills and support that have enabled me to sustain my family with dignity within my community.

How You Are Helping Set Women and Girls Free Now and For Eternity

This year, altogether, you have helped 5,059 women and girls across 10 countries in 356 She Is Safe Groups! While human trafficking remains a pervasive evil in the world, the good news is that it can be prevented and you are doing exactly that through your partnership with She Is Safe.

“A lack of economic and educational opportunities causes family members, including parents, husbands, and siblings, to subject women and girls to sex trafficking or forced labor in domestic servitude to supplement family incomes.”Trafficking In Persons Report, 2025.

Through She Is Safe, women and girls are being equipped with the external skills and internal identity-shift they need to be safe and free – now and forever.

Your Generosity Gave Annisa a New Identity in Christ

Annisa lives in a remote village in the mountains of Indonesia. Like many little girls here, she was seen as a burden and commodity. She grew up believing she did not matter. Annisa was at a high risk of being trafficked and abused. Thankfully, you make a She Is Safe Group possible here and she’s learning about her identity in Christ and being equipped with the vocational skills to build a safe future.

When our team shared a message from 1 Timothy 4:12, she was encouraged to know God sees her value. Thank you for helping Annisa be safe and giving her the opportunity to find new life, joy, and purpose!

Through God’s Word, I learned that being a young woman is no reason to be looked down upon. God calls me—and all of us—to be living examples. Not just in our words, but in our speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity of heart. I am committed to growing in Christ and being a blessing through the example of my life.

How You are Leading Women Away from the Brothel

This year, we expanded to serve a brothel community in Bangladesh. These women are eager for a path to freedom.

Thankfully, you made 5 She Is Safe Groups possible here to help women currently trapped in the brothel and in surrounding high-risk communities. The women are learning how to sew in order to earn a steady, dignified income. They plan to start small tailoring businesses and shared how their ability to contribute financially to their families will help them be safe from physical abuse and also give them peace of mind, knowing they can take care of themselves.

Instead of a life trapped in cycles of violence, sexual or labor slavery, these young women have a path to freedom. This is the multi-generational power of prevention to change the future not just for the women you are helping, but their children’s future too!

How You are Preventing Child Marriage in the Middle East and Asia

Child marriage is one of the most prevalent forms of human trafficking, with 10+ million girls trafficked as child brides every year (UNICEF). Through the active advocacy and leadership of She Is Safe programs and our local workers in MENA and across Asia, there is growing community-wide understanding and resistance to trafficking little girls into child marriage. “I want my daughter to finish her education before thinking about marriage,” Yasmin said.

Now I understand the risks of early marriage, and I will wait until my daughter is ready and an adult.

You are Changing Multi-Generational Cycles of Exploitation

  1. Salma was abandoned by her husband and left to raise her little boy alone.

As a single mother in South Asia, Salma worked hard as a washerwoman but it wasn’t enough to keep food on the table.

  2. She turned to gambling to escape her fear and pain. The instability also impacted her son, Azim, and he would act out.

  3. When Salma joined the She Is Safe Group you make possible, she learned about Jesus. In the group, she found a strong, supportive community.

  4. She learned life skills and business training and soon, she stopped gambling. Her new faith completely changed her sense of identity and worth. It’s given her courage and changed how she parents. We’ve seen so much growth in Azim too, as he also now knows the love of his heavenly Father.

At the age of 7, Azim is now a trusted helper in the kids’ program and a good friend. Salma and Azim’s future is completely different because of you.

Thank you for making this tangible and eternal freedom possible!

Rescue

Over the last year, you helped rescue 645 victims of human trafficking! How? By helping us position local teams in the places where girls are most likely to be trafficked. This is usually in slums, red light districts, border areas, and refugee camps. Sometimes, that means rescuing children from brothels, like Saanvi ...

Saanvi’s Rescue

Saanvi is 6 years old. She was born in a brothel after her mother was trafficked as a teenage girl. Many nights at the brothel, Saanvi would curl up on a small balcony while her mother serviced the men who bought her for a few minutes or a few hours. Soon, those men would want Saanvi.

Thankfully you make a She Is Safe Restoration Home possible nearby and Saanvi was rescued. When she first came there to live, she would crawl to get a cup of water in the middle of the night because she had learned to survive by hiding from her mother’s customers. No child should know that kind of fear.

Today, Saanvi is safe because of you. She’s in a loving environment where she can heal from trauma and experience the kind of love and stability every child deserves. Because you saw beyond borders and into the brothels of India, Saanvi will have a strong future, one where she knows her value as a child of God.

Restoration

Abuse and human trafficking are soul-level problems that require soul-level solutions. We work to holistically restore those who have been abused and trafficked through education, trauma counseling, discipleship, and job training to equip them with the knowledge and skills to build whole new lives.

From Brothel Owner to Business Leader

Ayu was a brothel owner and pimp, with 6 young women working for her in a red-light district in Indonesia. This was the only reality Ayu had known for many years. But you made it possible for She Is Safe’s business training to be offered in the brothel village and Ayu was curious. She wanted to know if a different future was possible.

She’d forgotten what it was like to dream. But slowly, as the training progressed, she saw a new path forward. She made the decision to close her brothel and start a culinary business instead and persuaded all 6 women working for her to go through the business training and leave the red-light district too!

Through your generosity, she learned the skills she needs to earn a dignified income. She is very hardworking and a great leader. Now, Ayu is creating a whole new life for herself and leading the way forward in her community.

Hawa’s Future Restored: A Path to Safety for Her Children

When Hawa first arrived in a refugee camp, she had lost everything. Fleeing their war-torn homeland, Hawa struggled to imagine a future for her family. Displacement exponentially increases the risk of human trafficking and Hawa was overwhelmed with fear, not knowing how to protect her children.

Thankfully, you helped establish a She Is Safe Group in this refugee community. Hawa is being equipped with business training, mentorship, and a new understanding of her inherent value and worth.

Through She Is Safe’s training and the encouragement of the women in the group, Hawa started a small event planning business. This has become a source of income and stability for her family as they rebuild their lives, and a testimony of hope for other refugee families around them.

Hawa is a leader in her community now. She has lived through more pain and trauma than most of us can imagine, and today, thanks to you, she is building a new future for herself and her children.

You can Live a Legacy that Lasts for Eternity

Everyone leaves a Legacy, but only a few are intentional about living out their legacy now ...

If you have been blessed with success in business or investing, as a faithful steward of the talents God has given you, we would love to partner with you in crafting a centerpiece of your legacy through asset-based giving.

One of the greatest questions generous people can ask isn't whether you will leave something behind—it's how you can live into your legacy now and where it will be stewarded to make the greatest eternal impact.

Partnering with She Is Safe to create a customized Living Legacy is easy, rewarding, and the impact starts now and will last for eternity. Please reach out to Ellery Sadler (esadler@sheissafe.org) on our team to learn more.

Her Story in Her Own Words

I was deeply affected by the trauma of torture and exploitation. I often thought of ending my life and could never sleep peacefully. But now, I can sleep and I have hope for my future. I am truly grateful for the counseling and support I have received from She Is Safe.
