Myanmar – Equipping Teen Girls
On the outskirts of the cities in Myanmar, there are large slums where parents and children pick through garbage. Education is too expensive for these families. Teenage girls in these slums, with few skills and fewer options, are at-risk of being abused or coerced into slavery.
By Equipping Teen Girls, they gain education and vocational skills with a focus on understanding their value, strength and purpose in Christ. These girls become shining examples of hope in the communities, paving a way to a brighter future for this and the next generation of boys and girls.
Why Teen Girls in Myanmar Need to be Equipped:
- Violence against women is prevalent, and most cases go unreported.
- Poverty disproportionately affects women
- Every single day girls are trafficked to Thai brothels or as unwilling brides to China
