Open Positions:

Online Community Manager

The Online Community Manager is responsible for engaging the She Is Safe online community through social media, blog posts, email marketing and website management. This candidate will grow our social media communities on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram by developing and implementing a strategic marketing plan for each channel and using creative writing skills to engage donors and advocates. Other duties include creating graphics for social media and the SIS website, assisting with blog posts, and managing the SIS website. This position reports directly to the Marketing and Communications Manager. The Online Community Manager will maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the work our organization performs and will be able to communicate that work to our online community. The candidate is to have a passion for Christ, a desire to serve others, and a solid understanding of the significant challenges faced by abused and exploited women and girls.


  • Convey She Is Safe’s mission to donors and advocates in writing and through visual communication.
  • Learn the online community and serve as a liaison between them and the work of our ministry.
  • Develop a social media strategy to grow our online community and generate awareness with daily posts, monitoring and management of each channel (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
  • Assist with blog posts and update our website with the latest blog content.
  • Manage the She Is Safe website from simple content updates to Google AdWords implementation.
  • Design graphics for social media posts, website banners/sliders, blog headers, eblast designs and some direct mail material.
  • Manage eblasts to our email database through Constant Contact Email Marketing Software.
  • Stay well-informed of latest trends in social media, emerging technologies, and nonprofit communications.
  • Other communications duties as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media Management or related field
  • Outstanding written communication and grammar skills
  • Strong organization skills, high degree of self-motivation, and the ability to produce work on deadlines
  • Experience managing multiple social media channels with content specific to each platform while maintaining brand continuity.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization and keyword research/copywriting
  • Knowledge of Adobe Create Suite and ability to create basic graphic designs
  • Experience with Constant Contact Email Marketing Software preferred, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress for website management
  • Experience managing Google AdWords is a plus
  • Integrity in managing sensitive and confidential information
  • Acceptance of the Lausanne Covenant statement of Christian faith
