Thanks Overflowing

Dear Praying Friend,

Cool crisp autumn air. Colorful foliage. Pumpkins on the porch and the aroma of apple pie baking. It’s Thanksgiving time.  What are you most thankful for?

We are thankful for you because you have joined in to help women and girls in high risk places to be safe, free and equipped.

Thank you for making all the difference for girls like Thet*, a vulnerable little girl in one of Myanmar’s impoverished communities.  This place is among the most at-risk countries for sex trafficking, according to the 2018 U.S. State Department Trafficking In Persons Report.

We pray, as the end of the year approaches, that you will join us again to help these women and girls to be safe, free and equipped.

Due to the shortage of girls in neighboring China, girls in Myanmar are being trafficked as unwilling brides.

Thet’s father died, and his widow, May Su* struggled to provide for her children. Traffickers know that desperate mothers have few options, and target their daughters as prey.  This is why She Is Safe is urgently working to strengthen these moms with skills that will help them provide a self-sustaining future and protect their daughters from being sold.

May Su joined our vocational training program and learned to sew. She started a sewing business and joined a She Is Safe Transformation Group, gaining literacy, loans and new life!

She heard about God’s love for the first time, responded in faith, and was recently baptized. May Su pours out gratitude for what this opportunity has meant to her, “I share life with these women. They are my family, my sisters. My life has been transformed. I know how to provide for and protect my children. I am thankful to know God.”

Thet has watched her mother’s journey, and it has set her on a safer path.  Rather than going with a trafficker, she will be going to school and helping to create a safer, freer future for her community.

Right now, thousands more mothers are struggling. Thousands more of their daughters are at extreme risk. And we are ready to help them.

As the year end is fast approaching, will you help She Is Safe to intervene in the lives of these women and girls? Will you prayerfully consider special support now to prevent, rescue and restore girls from being sold into slavery, and introduce them to God’s love?

I hope you will decide now to share your blessings with women and girls in high risk areas around the world this Thanksgiving. We need your help at this critical time to reach our year-end goal to free and equip 10,000 women and girls in high-risk communities where we serve, at about $300 for each one we help.

We would love for you to be a part of the She Is Safe work to prevent, rescue and restore women and girls from suffering abuse and exploitation.

Please give online at: SheIsSafe.org/give.

Thank you for remembering the forgotten girls,

In His love,

P.S. Around your Thanksgiving table, would you consider sharing the story of Thet and May Su, and pray for them and others like them who are still without hope? Would you please pray for their rescue and restoration for women and girls across the world? Thank you.
